Nature's potent, accessible therapeutic.

Berries are part of Nordic food culture, traditional Finnish dishes, and the natural landscape. NBRI exists to build a stronger evidence base around their potential health benefits.

Our focus is clinical research at the intersection of berry nutrition and chronic illness.

Research program

Our initial focus is on berry products and chronic diseases, including diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer's, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.

2026Begin clinical studies focused on bilberry and lingonberry among diabetes and pre-diabetes patients.
NextBroaden the evidence base to cloudberry and sea buckthorn through in-vitro research.
2029Aim to conduct 10 trials by the end of the year.
GoalEstablish early therapeutic use cases for Nordic berries.
